Am safely assuming that the reader has been to a magic show or at least viewed one on TV/Mobile/Tablet/Laptop screen. We are so much in awe of the art of tricks, the sense of surprise and thrill it brings to our senses, we seldom worry about transparency or behind-the-scene science. It’s an open secret that the show is a facade but the magic of the well-put spectacle does cast a spell, stimulate our heart and head space & at times, even inspire. Mystery can be Majestic exuding larger than life aura and leave an impact for a lifetime – hopefully for good.
When we are experiencing good moments be it listening to a pleasing playlist on any streaming app, scrolling through never ending interesting Insta feed, binge watching an engaging thriller series, long drive when it’s pouring, having fabulous Fika time, watching a movie that is close to our heart, dancing in Disneyland etcetera – not even an iota of mind space is given to the mechanism of background work as to how a mobile/car was assembled or where the silicon got tested, how Instagram algorithm is mapping content to a user, coffee plantation to production process, how a movie was shot in conflicted war zone region, sketching method & procedure behind the most loved fictional, clumsy but cute, Mickey & Minnie etcetera.. We are just drawn to the magic of end benefit as to how the outcome of any invention or discovery or process can add value to us by improving our ease & quality of living
Humans have an urge to quench their thirst for answers. We desperately wanna figure out all the Ws –Who, What, Where, When, Why + how part of it as well. Khoj is always on & comes out in the form of queries related to both spiritual and materialistic pursuits. We rarely get satiated. If we choose to then the smart prashn should be – do we really need answers/transparency across anything and everything to the minutestest details? Pedantic prone species are bound to miss out on all the pleasure
We are taught since ages that transparency is the key to any long-lasting relationship or for a company/firm to function in a healthy way. Somewhere transparency is tied to morality and integrity – heavily loaded words. With experience, we understand that diplomacy is the deadly trait to deal with anything and everything. Untimely transparency has harmed relationships especially at budding stages and corrupted companies’ stakeholders. We all need not know everything about everyone everywhere. No matter how much we respect a bond be it with parents/ siblings/ friends/ colleagues/ partner/ children – having one’s own space is sacred to every individual & business entity. Encroaching upon privacy in the name of transparency rarely triumphs
It’s a boon that we don’t know or understand everything that goes on in our own and another person’s mind + heart. Identities evolve, it’s pathetic if an individual is same after each enriching day. So, what we might have analysed about someone today, based on data points acquired at the gun point quoting transparency clause – might not even apply after few months. So, why bother – just chill 🙂
When it’s raining & a lovely weather is at your service, screaming and signaling that you get your as* out and relish the warmth of nature – it’s insanely foolishness on your part to get into how water evaporated from earth and reached sky to form clouds and when it precipitates etc.. Basically, getting into philosophical theory that all natural resources are just changing forms is the heights of dullness. Keeping the wonder quotient alive & experiencing the same old rain, sunrise and sunset with full vigor is our responsibility. Wonder doesn’t necessarily need transparency/answers – it’s a quality that keeps us active and kicking by letting us appreciate what we observe and perceive
Jaded conditioning has passed on this restless appetite to figure out the lacklustre logic behind all the harmonious and harsh happenings around us. We need not make sense of all the adventures around and give meaning to it. May be, we are better off & feel light as a feather when we accept & allow the miracle and magic to unfold by royally ignoring the rationale & reasoning that tutors transparency.
