Population of 1.3+ billion & we still have the face to act weird about int**co**se – what if my article gets banned for using not so sanskaari word & hence ‘*’.
Now that we have proved to the cosmos that we all lead a healthy sex life – it’s time to see how best we can make use of the outcome (babies) of all the kaand we have been doing since time immemorial. Look at the human resource and the market potential!! If we decide to shun our laziness and judgmental approach then we can be self-sufficient. Trust me ‘self-sufficiency’ is such a secured and beautiful feeling to go through. No wonder Bapu stressed on it so badly–it takes hard hitting experiences to understand the power of certain words.
Learnt through experiences that there are simple solutions for almost everything just that we are not ready, too much of in-built resistance. Economy in simple terms is all about money changing hands – we have way too many hands (1.3 bn) to allow that to function & grow positively YoY.
All we need is to manufacture what is required on day today basis in India and sell it to our-selves. Manufacturing within will create jobs & it calls for all kinds of skills be it technical, creative, logistics, management, marketing, sales etc. Beauty is skills can be transferred through training & education again creating new set of jobs. Food industry in itself can boost the economy significantly-it’s a daily necessity. We are so good at both creating (supply) and consuming (demand) food. We are among pioneers when it comes to farming-required raw materials is available in house–slightly a higher thinking can enable you to grow your own vegetables. These fundas are not hanging in air preaching – to start with, Just get 2 pots and grow your own flowers – might inspire you to hit the next level of growing veggies
Your money just rotates – your 500 bucks to a fruit vendor can be a school fee for his child and reaches the educational institute & is part of the salary the staff gets –assuming your mom works there – money reaches you back. It’s like energy– can’t be created or destroyed– just moves from one form to another – first law of thermodynamics. Obvious that we require electricity, road, water & air transport, distribution systems in place –we are blessed with required natural resources within India for the same.
Have you ever wondered why a Zara coat costs you way more than a desi brand? It’s not just quality of the fabric or the creativity of the pattern rather it’s the customs + branding cost. It all gets manufactured in third world, goes to foreign shores for packaging and comes back again with custom duty added. We buy paying extra sponsoring their marketing as well – how silly ? We have enough creative artistic people & tailoring is something we have been doing since the age of raja maharajas! Support Rheson just for this reason
Above doesn’t imply that we shut doors to global world. Innovation is a need which is possible only if we exchange ideas with everyone all over the universe. I recognize rather can even feel the amount of happiness you can gift when a drug that can cure any life threatening disease is invented.
Also we are all connected irrespective of whether one understands it or not. We need to join hands to address global issues such as climate calamity/natural disasters etc bcoz in-turn it will all affect us someday – selfish streak I tell you !! 1994 beauty pageant was an attempt to make inroad into our market by all big cosmetic giants & our actors being part of Hollywood movie is in a way to capture 1.3bn mind space leading to them loosening wallet strings. Do we really need high cost gym? Yoga requires just a mat and our own body weight is enough to compensate weights you see in gym. Yoga is so beautifully well-thought that it addresses every inch of your body and running costs you nothing.
All my articles’ conclusion seem to be the same – too much of anything is not good. Desipan or global-pan! Harmony with world is fine but don’t let anyone take undue advantage!
