Age old question asked and faced by every individual in the past, present and the future era will be – is it pre-determined or we write our own script? Answer that consoles us is – When we have a logical explanation then it’s our own script. When it’s beyond the realm of logic – basically when we feel as to ‘what the hell just happened?’ then blame it on destiny 🙂
Similar to the above dilemma is one more smartestest query – Hold on or let go? Go after what you want or what’s meant to be will find you? After all, Rumi said, what you seek is seeking you 🙂 May be in another era and time, people got bugged by not having answers and created the glorious concept of karma that acts as a crutch giving us some solace and support. Karma Komplexity has Krazy klarity 🙂
Later, they realized all non-sense seems to gravitate towards good people and how can that be explained by law of karma? So, may be few intelligent and enlightened souls successfully invented or discovered that karma is not limited to just this lifetime but encompasses many of our past lifetimes. No one can argue or question the above because it comes with a disclaimer that states that – none of us are supposed to remember our past lives 🙂
So we all are safe in this unquestionable logic which in a nutshell means – if we are screwed up in the present lifetime then we must have equally screwed up someone in our non-recallable past life. Wise or not-so-wise, silly or not-so-silly – this sort of brings in some sanity when one is going through rough patch. Also, the belief that good karma can change our course of destiny or lessen the intensity of junk that is thrown at us can sail us through some real bad weather gracefully. In absence of the above, there are high chances that we all turn into monsters to claim our justice.
We all are conditioned to believe that justice means revenge or tit-for-tat. Justice actually means balance. If one has been going through equal amounts of crests and troughs then that’s justice. Justice is not – only good happening to good people. Unlucky are those who always have things going their way. They never can appreciate and feel the richness and depth of life. They lack ecstasy
Justice cannot and should not be same for all. If some affluent person is behind bars for a misdeed then it’s utter brainless judgment to punish him monetarily and let him loose. It hardly hits him where it hurts the most and so he never updates his software version. Job of justice is to season people – make them reach a state of balance and enable them to develop fresh perspectives that works for them and others around. This is only possible when life operates as sine wave. One should learn to ride the crest and brave the trough
Also, the concept that good karma-points can help us in our next re-incarnation can make us work towards something constructive. Irrespective of the outcome, humans start to tread a positive trajectory. This again comes with a disclaimer that we don’t know whether we will again be born as humans or animals in next lifetime 🙂
Intention of this thought is to convey that everything is already figured out and world is running perfectly fine. Stop over analyzing. Relax and relish whatever comes your way with full involvement and gratitude.
As J Krishnamurthi puts it – Mediation is nothing but attending completely to what you are doing be it fighting, screaming, praying, blaming, partying, presenting, styling – whatever your list of mess is 🙂 If you are lost in the moment then you are meditative even in the absence of yogic asanas or chants
