Psychological infrastructure for failure is a need – more than want. Way we perceive this word ‘failure’ requires immediate attention in the interest of keeping the word ‘experimentation’ alive as – ‘experimentation’ is the only gradual & possible way that can improve our quality of living through discoveries/ inventions and enable us to acquire enriching life experiences. Fear of failure ingrained in us is the common culprit that curbs this beautiful process. We are so scared to put ourselves out there as we fear – how we get judged if things start to go awry.
With easy accessibility & affordability of internet infrastructure along with near zero moderation– everyone use ‘trolling’ as a way to glorify & amplify others’ failures & criticize another person’s especially celebrities’ point of view/voice that too openly on a public platform – It sort of gives them a pseudo kick that they are better off & somehow won a medal for their unbridled verbal diarrhoea expressed by hitting or touching keyboard of their laptop/mobile from the comfort of their home. Other mean mute stalkers on social media derive sadistic pleasure out of these comments as they don’t even have the guts to do the same on their own.Prevalent lazy journalism picks this up and shamelessly show this as news on national television and channel’s official social handles. Basically, there is always an active & passive audience for others’ failures & goof-ups 🙂
These losers/trollers console themselves that they are the best bcoz they saved their grace by not attempting at doing something that can cause uproar on virtual world and make internet suffer a major meltdown. How else can they stay alive with all the pent up frustrations – they need such delusions & 5 minutes claim to fame 🙂 If they had ever in their life stepped out of their comfort zone and strived towards achieving anything – be it cooking a dish/doing good laundry/replenish refrigerator basically run a home, painting, run a firm, hit a gym, compose a song etc, then they definitely would have felt the pain/struggles that comes along with any strategy & execution of tasks. Unknowingly, they would have developed empathy & respect for other’s work. They would have known & felt – “To err/stumble is human”
Somehow not giving it a try feels nice & safe than failing at something – re-read, let this line sink in. This is a sick mentality. Failure needs roaring applaud and participation scores over winning/losing, else one ends up missing out on the gift called ‘experience’ which will take care of him/her and protect her/him in future + helps lead a meaningful life. It’s always an easy way out to justify one’s own pathetic stagnant situation by using others failure without realizing what a fool one has been all along as one ends up missing out on an amazing ride. It’s never about the dream or a goal or a wish or a destination that we chase, it’s who we end up becoming while doing that is the real success.
Anonymity & availability of social platform to vent out is a perfect setting for all the callous creatures who are not capable of understanding the grave impact if people stop trying & exploring new possibilities. Every drug that cures a disease is the result of myriad failed awesome attempts. Imagine a world with no drug to cure common flu let alone Covid 19. We look down upon medical researchers and pay them peanuts without realizing that we need them to survive. They directly affect our longevity. We can somehow manage without sports & entertainment industry but they get paid insanely. These are just wants, in absence of which we will figure out other ways to keep ourselves engaged but medicine is a mandatory necessity – savior of our life.
Some unseasoned self-proclaimed rabid reviewers of books & movies live in their own eco chambers to an extent, where they start to believe that they are better than the one who has actually written or created something original. Reviewers depend on the authentic content of others for a living & might have hardly written few lines of their own in their entire life or even know where to place a camera to shoot a movie. It’s a symbiotic relationship where we all need each other – no one is doing a favor to anyone by being civil & polite. Borrowing Mr Bill Bullard’s words/quotes’ essence, opinions are the lowest form of knowledge as it doesn’t require accountability but empathy needs deeper understanding of other’s world and emotions thereby allowing the individual to deal with the situation and people in a less distasteful manner. We learn to walk a few meters if not a mile in another person’s shoes.
If people who can influence say Priyanka Chopra stop lending her voice for causes bcoz of all the shitty comments she gets, it’s a loss for the world not her. Every achiever who has the resources be it money, man power, time, skill, knowledge, right intention – who can actually make lives of less privileged better deserves support + encouragement and we all need to cut them some slack if they make harmless errors in their judgement while talking or typing on social media for the sake of humanity. Major takeaway from corona is that “we are all connected”. Collective progress & protection of required stakeholders that include all strata of society, nature covering flora and fauna, water bodies, air we breathe, non-living elements such as mountains etc is the only long term solution to survive and thrive on this planet.
When any government fails, it’s an indication of something amiss among all key stakeholders – we the people who voted and our reasons to vote (usual suspects are caste, money, party affinity & not previous work of the candidate), cabinet coordination, ground level execution army, state cooperation with centre & vice versa as we have federal structure, leadership failure at all levels – PM to CM to MLA ..It’s never a single person & same applies when govt is doing well.
The piece de resistance of this thought is – We, as a human race, lose by default when we don’t give our conviction a chance. It’s our responsibility to build a safe psychological environment for anyone to just go out on a limb & explore whatever their heart desires as long as they are harmless. Failure is an event because it always requires many variable factors to fall in place for something to work or not work. Display of humility, when things happen to go our way, doesn’t deserve extra karma points. One should stay humble bcoz it’s a fact that success is also an event & never solely a person.

Piece de resistance – (especially with reference to creative work) the most important or remarkable feature
