Stroke of luck – not to get what you want

Shall borrow the essence of Mr Bachchan’s words to start the thought flow. “Mann ka ho toh achha hain varna aur bhi zyada achha”. His interpretation of the above quote is that when life doesn’t unfold the way we want and nothing seems to work in our favor, it means a divine power call it universe or god or goddess is scripting our show. With the basic belief that this omnipotent energy would never wish anything bad, we can safely assume that what is meant to be is choosing us and it is definitely way better than what we wanted it to be. The day we truly feel the above funda – we are sorted for life.

With a little bit of self-discovery, which can happen on a day to day basis provided we are sensitive and perceptive, we tend to get clarity of understanding as to how we function. Simply put, we feel strongly about what works for us and what doesn’t. This gives us a perspective of what we could or would have pulled off and what we would or could have successfully screwed up. Armed with this realization, we will be able to objectively assess the most coveted capricious-word called ‘LUCK’.

We all grow/evolve at different pace. We all have different timelines when it comes to readiness for experiences across various spheres such as education, career choices, relationships, financial decisions, health related lifestyle changes, travel  etc  We will not be able to relish the blessing across any of the above mentioned areas if it arrives before we are ripe enough to handle it. Paradoxically, only way to reach that prepared state of mind is by not getting what we want. At times, life does sound like a saddist 🙂

Nature always leads by example & keeps sending subtle signals on art and science of living. We are so jaded by our conditioned mindset of comparison and judgements that our senses miss the signs and sadly, needs regular gentle reminders to just look around for answers. Only a ripened fruit/grain/vegetable can be delicious. If you observe behind-the-scene growth process – It’s very evident that every plant or a tree/crop or a veggie has its own unique journey meant for it which is completely different from the other. But all are beautiful and serve a meaningful purpose. Organically, we never compare plants or fruits rather we appreciate and accept the diversity

Mango loves summer & no matter how hard we try to lure luck or pray or heighten our efforts – it won’t be available in other seasons. Nurturing in terms of fertilizer, sunlight, water etc needed for indoor and outdoor plants is so evidently varied. Each family of indoor plant expects exclusive treatment and placement so that it can provide the needed ROI (return on investment) in terms of air purification, adding charm to interior design or calming the space around.

There are various kinds of dogs such as sporting, herding, hounds etc and lovely spread of breeds such as Pug, German Shepherd, Poodle, Dobermann etc We never feel that Bulldog is luckier than Golden retriever or vice versa. We just adore them for what they are. Also, none of the dogs or plants exhibit anxiety to be like another. They are proudly & peacefully themselves. All living beings around be it flora or fauna have their own trajectories & lovable personality traits. For some uncanny inexplicable reason – we fail to apply the same to humans. Foolishly, we all seem to get attracted towards what we lack

This is precisely why eastern philosophy is not congregational and always push for a journey within. Spirituality is not a mass commodity rather it is a distinctive discovery by each individual that is applicable only to him/her. Even non-living things around can drop a hint on ways of life. Pendulum has to swing either ways before it hits equilibrium. Similarly we all can’t have a forever hunky dory situations, we inevitably have to go through phases where we feel lucky when wishes get granted and unlucky when things go awry.

Also, whomsoever we think got lucky need not necessarily be happy with what he or she has received or they may have never even asked for it. Chosen by destiny to be born into royalty, making normal people feel as though princess/prince has luck written in her/his stars, actually pay unjustified price – as worst as untimely death. Kensington is a palace of secret stories and public lives, which has till date failed to decipher princess Diana’s demise

Luck will have to oscillate either ways before it gifts us balance and stability. Balance does look different on each one of us just like fingerprint/signature. We all are sunset bound and will be put out to pasture someday. It goes where it goes and it is what it is. None of us will come out of it alive. Death is a known destination that we all share. Let’s allow the chips to fall where they may
